Despite several cups of coffee, an organized list, and the best of intentions, today was one of those days where I just couldn't get myself to be productive. It was a beautiful, springy day, and I've been spending a ton of time at the office lately (and been otherwise buried in too many piles of boring / too-grown-up / administrative blah blah paperwork). Today my brain just bailed... pointed to the pretty sky, and said "noooooo! you're missing it!". So... my body decided to follow, promtly leaving the office.

There's a great hotel, McMenamins Edgefield, just 20 minutes from my home. It's a beautiful property, serene and art-filled, and makes a perfect place to take a quick re-set break. After I gave up at the office, I booked one of their less expensive spa services (pedicure), and that gave me access to their awesome, tranquil pool for the rest of the afternoon. Ahhhhh. Two hours later, after a quick pedicure and a serene soak under the cheery, cloud dotted sky, I was refreshed. And I didn't put it there, but I swear I also saw a faint heartsmiley up in the clouds. Do you? Or maybe we just see what we want to see... In any case, back to work tomorrow!
